Center For People In Need
The Christmas season is a time of joy and memories for many families, but for those with a limited income, this time of year risks turning into another painful reminder of how often they have to go without. At the Center for People in Need, Toyland for Kids helps make sure that every child in Lincoln can enjoy the Christmas season and have a toy to wake up to. Last year over 11,000 children and 3,500 local families received gifts from Toyland For Kids.
In December, the Board For Human Care recruits volunteers from our congregation to serve at a designated time in the Toyland Store. Of course the greatest gift each of us has received is Jesus, whose coming we celebrate each Christmas. This is just another way we can give to others this season, in response to the great gift that has been given to us.
